Education is ethnocentric. Meaning alot of what we were taught in school either was something we could relate to because it was reflective of our racial makeup or identity or it was culturally alienating and thus offensive and false. For example we were taught Columbus discovered America. This we know was a lie and offended and deprived the Native American students of their true history. Same for Africans in America.
